Sapulpa Public Schools broke ground Tuesday afternoon for contractor Nabholz to begin construction of Sapulpa High School’s Chieftain Center auxiliary gymnasiums and an end zone building for the George F. Collins Stadium. These will join Nabholz’s continuing work on the new high school.
“These facilities will be an extension of the classroom. We will be teaching life lessons,” said SPS Athletic Director Michael Rose. “All of these buildings are beautiful, and we will cherish them, embrace them, and use them as an opportunity to grow as young men and women.”
The auxiliary gyms for practices, competitions, and school events, as well as a state-of-the-art workout area and a concession stand. The end zone facility will offer upgraded locker rooms, coaching offices, and training space. The exterior will prominently feature the Chieftain logo, with the video scoreboard installed atop the structure.
These projects, all designed by Reed Architecture and Interiors, resulted from the 2023 Chieftain Stronger bond, as did the baseball and softball stadiums completed earlier this year. Superintendent of Schools Rob Armstrong said Nabholz will begin construction on new agricultural and ROTC additions in Spring 2026.

“This is another great day to be a Chieftain,” said Assistant Superintendent Johnny Bilby. “As you can see, things are running fast. Sapulpa Public Schools’ trajectory is always upwards, and that’s because of you. That’s because of our students, and that’s because of our community and what we do. This is long overdue, and thank you for allowing us to be part of your students’ lives.”
“What an honor it is to be part of this,” said RAI principal and founder David Reed. “We're so excited to see how all of our efforts, from the voters to our student athletes to our amazing staff and administration, how they all pour into our community. We continue to grow and get stronger and stronger.”
